Powerful Presentations - Course Outline

A 1½ day programme to build on and improve existing presentation skills including how to capitalise on and improve existing visual aids.

Day 1

Key Facts

  • extensive use of video
  • much 1 to 1 work
  • visual aid analysis
  • learning to conquer nerves
  • optimum group number is 8-10

Day 1 includes three presentations by each participant with video and feedback and includes

  • analysing a presentation
  • outlining the objectives
  • using and abusing visual aids
  • explaining a simple process
  • practising voice projection

Presentation 1
1A two minute self presentation using a visual aid.


Presentation 2

2Explaining a basic process in 2 minutes.
A process will be outlined in 6-8 basic steps using 1-2 visuals.


Presentation 3

3Business orientated. 8-10 minute focus on part of a presentation that either the participant has given or will give in the future.

In depth attention is paid to the objectives, the content of the presentation and the visual aids, the number and composition and how many are necessary.

Day 2 (Half day, one week later)

Intensive work with participants on objectives and visual aids following on from Presentation 3 of the previous week.

It is assumed that during the week's interval between the 2 sessions that each participant will rethink their presentation, the length, the content, the quantity and composition of visual aids, indeed their actual necessity of visual aids.
